Gas prices dip across New Jersey with lowest at $2.39 per gallon, cheapest prices in years

TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey drivers are finding some relief at the pump this week, with several South Jersey stations offering regular gasoline for as low as $2.39 per gallon, according to GasBuddy data Wednesday morning. The state average currently stands at about $2.57 per gallon, down two cents from last week as winter demand and wholesale prices continue to ease.

The lowest prices reported include CITGO and Shell stations in Maple Shade and Berlin, each at $2.39 per gallon. Close behind are Costco and BJ’s Wholesale locations in Cherry Hill and Maple Shade, where members are paying around $2.41 per gallon. Conoco and Valero stations in Maple Shade matched that price, while BJ’s in Whippany listed regular at $2.43.

Industry analysts say prices have trended downward since late December due to lower crude oil costs and reduced seasonal driving. South Jersey continues to lead the state in affordability, with Burlington and Camden counties consistently posting the cheapest rates. Northern counties such as Bergen and Essex remain higher, often averaging 10 to 15 cents more per gallon.

Despite small week-to-week changes, gas remains roughly 25 cents cheaper than the same time last winter, offering slight relief to commuters heading into the mid-January chill.

CITGO and Shell stations in South Jersey posted the state’s lowest gas price Wednesday at $2.39 per gallon.
