Prosecutors seek life without parole after convictions in murder and abuse case

New Rochelle, NY – A jury has found a 43-year-old woman guilty of murder and multiple violent offenses in connection with the killing of her intimate partner and the abuse of others, authorities announced.

Kenya Tilford was convicted following a multi-week trial of first-degree murder under the torture-murder provision, second-degree murder, strangulation, and concealment of a human corpse in the 2023 death of Concetta Morton.

Jury finds pattern of violence across multiple victims

Prosecutors said Tilford was also convicted on additional charges tied to prior intimate partners, including aggravated sexual abuse, assault, coercion, and witness intimidation.

“Today’s verdict is the direct result of outstanding detective work by our General Investigations Unit, and the exceptional prosecution of the case by our partners in the District Attorney’s Office,” said Police Commissioner Neil K. Reynolds. “Their dedication to uncovering the truth, and holding this defendant accountable has delivered justice in one of the most horrific cases our department has ever investigated.”
