Knife attack suspect locked up after Oldtown Road clash in Cumberland
Cumberland, MD — A knife-wielding suspect is behind bars after a reported daytime assault in Cumberland led to a swift police investigation and arrest.
The incident unfolded around 1:50 p.m. April 28 in the 1500 block of East Oldtown Road, where officers responded to a report of an assault involving a weapon.
Investigators said the victim reported being attacked by a man armed with a knife. The suspect was later identified as 49-year-old James Eugene Feagin of Cumberland.
After developing probable cause, police obtained an arrest warrant. Feagin was taken into custody April 30 and brought before a District Court Commissioner.
He is now being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
Feagin faces charges of second-degree assault and carrying a concealed dangerous weapon.
