North Palm Beach man wins $1M playing Holiday Ca$h scratch-off
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Palm Beach County man is celebrating a $1 million Florida Lottery win after playing the $1,000,000 Holiday Ca$h scratch-off game.
Matthew Fox, 53, of North Palm Beach, claimed the prize at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $606,700.
The winning ticket was purchased at Village Grocery, located at 9271 Prosperity Farms Road in Lake Park.
The $20 scratch-off game features a top prize of $1 million and offers players the chance to win up to 21 times on a single ticket.
Lottery officials said the game includes more than 3 million winning tickets and more than $125 million in total cash prizes, with overall odds of winning listed at 1-in-2.68.
Scratch-off games make up a major portion of Florida Lottery sales, accounting for about 74 percent of ticket purchases in fiscal year 2024–2025.
Since the games were introduced, Florida Lottery scratch-offs have awarded more than $70.8 billion in prizes, created 2,475 millionaires and generated more than $20.98 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
