Miami man claims $25 million jackpot from gold rush scratch off

MIAMI, FL – A South Florida man turned a single scratch-off ticket into a multimillion-dollar payout after claiming a $25 million top prize from a Florida Lottery game.

Lottery officials said Lincoln Diaz, 68, of Miami, secured the win playing the $25,000,000 Gold Rush Multiplier Scratch-Off. He claimed the prize at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee and chose a one-time lump sum payment of $15,960,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Walmart located on Southwest 26th Street in Miami.

The $50 scratch-off game features two top prizes of $25 million along with dozens of $1 million prizes. According to the Florida Lottery, the game offers more than $1.2 billion in total cash prizes and carries overall odds of 1-in-4.09.

Scratch-off games represent a significant portion of lottery sales in Florida, accounting for about 74 percent of ticket sales during the 2024–2025 fiscal year.

Since its launch, the Florida Lottery reports it has awarded more than $104.8 billion in prizes and created thousands of millionaires, while contributing billions to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
