Lucky night in New York as three lottery tickets win big

Three lucky tickets score TAKE 5 top prizes across New York

NEW YORK — A trio of lucky lottery players across New York State are holding winning tickets after all three hit top prizes in the TAKE 5 evening drawing, lottery officials announced.

The winning tickets were sold in Elmhurst, New Windsor and Rochester for the Tuesday evening drawing, with each ticket carrying a prize of $10,057.50.

In Queens, one of the top-prize tickets was purchased at Elmhurst Pharmacy & Home Infus on Baxter Avenue. Another winning ticket was sold at a Cumberland Farms on Blooming Grove Turnpike in New Windsor, while the third was picked up at a 7-Eleven on East Main Street in Rochester.

It remains unclear whether the winners have come forward to claim their prizes. Under New York Lottery rules, winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings.

TAKE 5 drawings are held twice daily and feature numbers selected from a pool of one through 39. The game continues to be one of the state’s most popular daily draw games due to its relatively favorable odds and frequent payouts.

Lottery officials also reminded players to carefully check their tickets, as thousands of additional players often win smaller prizes in each drawing.

The New York Lottery remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, contributing billions annually to support public education across the state.

Officials also continue to encourage responsible gaming, noting that help is available for those struggling with gambling-related issues through the HOPEline and other state resources.
