WASHINGTON, D.C. — The D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday, August 13, in Northeast D.C.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 500 block of Division Avenue, Northeast. Upon arrival, they found a man inside a park suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, 38-year-old Antowine Baker of Northeast, D.C., was transported to a local hospital by DC Fire and EMS but was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact them at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides in the District.
