MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Manchester Township Police Department is once again reminding residents that there is a police-monitored safe exchange zone at the municipal complex to ensure online holiday shopping safety and a neutral ground for child custody exchanges.

Manchester Township offers a Safe Exchange Zone at its municipal complex where residents can conduct online purchases and exchange custody of children. The Safe Exchange Zone was created to address safety concerns raised by online shoppers on Craigslist, eBay, Facebook, and classified ads, as well as provide a safe location for families that have visitation rights to perform custodial exchanges.

The Safe Exchange Zone is a well-lit and video surveillance-equipped parking lot located on Colonial Drive on the northeast side of the Municipal Complex. In the designated exchange area, there are two clearly marked parking spaces adjacent to town hall that can be used to meet buyers, sellers, and families to exchange goods and services. A state-of-the-art high-definition security camera system monitors the marked area 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
