Home targeted as armed group ransacks rooms and steals keys

UTICA, NY — A home invasion on the 700 block of Jay Street left a resident reporting that several masked individuals armed with handguns forced their way inside before stealing property and vehicle keys in a swift early morning robbery.

Utica Police were dispatched around 1 a.m. on February 14. Officers spoke with the victim, who said the group arrived at the door wearing masks and dark clothing. The individuals then forced entry into the home and took multiple items before fleeing with keys to two vehicles.

The case has been assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. Police are urging anyone with information to contact the Utica Police Department CID at 315-223-3510 or submit anonymous tips through Mohawk Valley Crime Stoppers.
