Myrtle Beach Police Department Welcomes Experienced Officer to Force

The Myrtle Beach Police Department has added a new officer to its ranks, welcoming Michael Knapp as the department’s newest member and praising his experience and commitment to public service.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department officially swore in Officer Michael Knapp on Monday, marking the latest addition to the agency’s First-in-Service team.

Knapp joins the department as a pre-certified officer after recently completing coursework at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Officials said he brings several years of law enforcement experience to his new position.

Experienced Officer Joins Department

Department leaders said Knapp’s background and training will allow him to quickly transition into serving the Myrtle Beach community.

“Officer Knapp is a pre-certified officer who recently completed coursework at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy,” the department said. “He joins us with several years of experience and is excited to bringing his knowledge and service to the community.”

The department shared photos from the welcome ceremony and highlighted Knapp’s commitment to public service.

Police officials expressed confidence that Knapp will make a positive impact both within the agency and throughout the city.
