Mystery intruder caught on camera sneaking into Northeast DC business before dawn

Police release surveillance images after unlawful entry at establishment on 24th Street

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police are searching for a suspect caught on surveillance cameras after an early morning unlawful entry at a Northeast Washington establishment.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened around 5:33 a.m. April 26 in the 1800 block of 24th Street Northeast.

Investigators said the suspect entered the establishment without permission.

Police said no property was reported stolen during the incident.

Surveillance cameras captured images and video of the suspect inside the property, and detectives released the footage Monday in hopes the public can help identify the individual.

Authorities have not released additional information about how the suspect gained entry or why the location was targeted.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the case is asked to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or submit anonymous tips through MPD’s text tip line at 50411.

Police said a reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
