Gas stop gamble pays off with $20K win for Chagrin Falls woman

Chagrin Falls, OH – Friday A routine stop at a Rootstown gas station turned into a windfall for one Chagrin Falls woman who scratched her way to a $20,000 prize on an Ohio Lottery VIP Millions ticket.

The winning ticket, purchased at the Circle K #5360 on State Route 44, was a $50 VIP Millions scratch-off — one of the Ohio Lottery’s highest-priced instant games offering some of the best odds to win a million-dollar prize.

The woman, whose name was not released, will take home $14,575 after state and federal taxes totaling 27.125% were withheld from the prize amount.

According to the Ohio Lottery, VIP Millions has a 1 in 4.02 chance of winning and currently offers 22 remaining top prizes of $1 million as of Wednesday. The game has been marketed as offering the best odds to win a million-dollar prize in Ohio Lottery history.

Lottery officials confirmed the win on Thursday and said the retailer that sold the winning ticket is also eligible for a sales bonus. The Circle K location remains an active lottery retailer with frequent high-tier payouts.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to support education throughout the state. Proceeds from all lottery sales continue to benefit public schools and educational programs across Ohio.
