FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A Burlington Township man has been arrested on multiple weapons and drug charges after an incident at a private school in Franklin Township on Tuesday, authorities said. Quincy K. Clark, 49, was taken into custody following an investigation by the Franklin Township Police Department and Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident began around 6:09 a.m. when police responded to a 9-1-1 call about a vehicle driving through a school campus with two flat tires. Officers arriving at the scene found Clark emerging from bushes near the campus with his hands in his pockets. A high-capacity ammunition magazine was found on his person, and a firearm loaded with hollow point bullets was discovered nearby.
The school was closed while authorities conducted a thorough search of the grounds. A subsequent search of Clark’s vehicle, executed under a court-ordered warrant, uncovered more ammunition and over half an ounce of cocaine, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
Clark faces charges including second-degree possession of a handgun, third-degree possession of a firearm on school grounds, and second-degree possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. He was transported to Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
