Passenger killed in golf cart crash in Long Neck community police investigating

Long Neck, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash after a woman fell from a golf cart in the Pot-Nets Bayside community Sunday evening.

The crash happened at approximately 7:00 p.m. on September 14 when a Venom EV Golf Cart was traveling north on Piney Crest Lane. Investigators said the 35-year-old passenger from Millsboro fell from the cart and was critically injured. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld until family members are notified.

The driver of the golf cart, a 44-year-old woman from Millsboro, was not injured. Police said the cart itself did not strike any objects and sustained no damage.

The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation.
