Cumberland woman charged after refusing police orders and obstructing investigation

CUMBERLAND, MD — A woman involved in a loud argument at a Cumberland residence was arrested Thursday after allegedly failing to obey officers’ commands and obstructing the scene.

Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Valley Street on January 29 for a disturbance between two individuals. Despite multiple instructions from officers to stop the behavior, the argument continued.

Lisa Simmons, 56, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, failure to obey, disturbing the peace, and obstructing. She was transported to the District Court Commissioner’s office and released on her own recognizance following her initial appearance.
