Package theft suspect sought after back to back burglaries in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA – A man suspected of stealing packages from an apartment building and merchandise from a downtown business is being sought after two closely timed burglaries along West and East Broad Street.

Richmond Police said the suspect first entered an apartment building in the 1600 block of West Broad Street, where several packages were taken from inside the property. Investigators believe the theft occurred late last week.

The following day, the same individual is accused of entering a business in the 00 block of East Broad Street and stealing multiple items before fleeing the area on a silver or metallic blue bicycle.

Police said the suspect was seen carrying the same backpack during both incidents, a detail investigators believe could help identify him. Surveillance images from the two locations have been released as part of the ongoing investigation.
