Ride share driver carjacked as two teens arrested hours later in Baltimore

A ride-share driver was robbed of his SUV in an armed carjacking, but police say the stolen vehicle was located just hours later, leading to the arrests of two 16-year-olds.

BALTIMORE, Md. — An armed carjacking targeting a ride-share driver ended with the arrests of two 16-year-old suspects just hours after the vehicle was stolen, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

The carjacking occurred at approximately 1:41 p.m. on July 7 near the intersection of Pall Mall Road and Shirley Avenue.

Responding officers found a 44-year-old ride-share driver who reported that his 2024 Toyota SUV had been taken during the armed carjacking.

Police broadcast descriptions of the suspects and the stolen vehicle.

At approximately 6:35 p.m., District Action Team officers, Regional Auto Theft detectives and Baltimore County Aviation units located the SUV traveling in the 2300 block of Bryant Avenue.

One 16-year-old suspect was arrested in the 2300 block of Bryant Avenue, while a second 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody in the 2300 block of Ruskin Avenue.

Police said one of the juveniles was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged as an adult with auto theft. The second juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Justice Center and also charged with auto theft.

The charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
