Debit cards stolen and fraudulent charge reported on Richmond Highway

STAFFORD, Va. — A woman reported her debit cards and cash stolen from her purse Tuesday afternoon, with at least one fraudulent charge later appearing on her account, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office daily incident report.

The larceny was reported in the 1900 block of Richmond Highway at approximately 3:46 p.m. Deputy J. J. Holetzky responded to the complaint.

The victim told deputies that several debit cards and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken from her purse. Authorities confirmed that a fraudulent transaction was made on one of the missing debit cards.

The investigation remains ongoing.
