Driver Arrested After Fleeing Deputies and Crashing

**Lavale, MD** – An Allegany County Sheriff’s Deputy, while traveling on National Highway between Lavale and Frostburg on Monday, observed a sedan exceeding the speed limit. The deputy initiated their emergency lights to stop the vehicle, but the driver accelerated away.

The speeding vehicle lost control and struck another vehicle after crossing the double yellow line. It continued further into Lavale, hitting a curb, and slid through a business parking lot after losing its tires. The deputy apprehended the driver, who was attempting to exit the vehicle.

Joshua Fullwood, 19, from Aberdeen, MD, was arrested and faces charges of reckless endangerment and various traffic offenses. The road was partially closed to remove vehicles and clean the area.

Assistance at the scene was provided by the Maryland State Police, Maryland Fire Marshal’s Office, Lavale Rescue Squad, Allegany County EMS, and Lavale Fire Department.

**Atlantic City, NJ** – The Atlantic City Police Department has arrested a driver following a vehicular collision involving drugs.

Officer John Bell witnessed a collision between two vehicles at Tennessee and Baltic Avenues on Tuesday at 4:52 PM. Louis Murphy, 22, of Atlantic City, exited one of the vehicles and attempted to walk away, prompting Officer Bell to detain him. Murphy was discovered to have several active warrants and lacked a valid driver’s license.

Following his arrest, Murphy was found in possession of 100 bags of heroin and six grams of cocaine. Charges against Murphy include possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent within 500 feet of a public zone, money laundering, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Murphy is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Authorities emphasize that charges are accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. **Utica, NY** – On Wednesday at approximately 3:15 PM, a collision involving a motor vehicle was reported on the 400 block of Blandina Street in Utica. Utica Police and Fire units responded to the scene after an altercation led to a vehicle striking multiple individuals.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered several people with injuries from the incident, which stemmed from a series of altercations throughout the day. A 17-year-old female driver allegedly drove her vehicle into the crowd, with four people reportedly struck. The victims’ injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

The investigation led authorities to identify and locate the suspect and the vehicle in Frankfort. Following the collection of medical documentation and witness statements, the teenager was charged with various offenses.

Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver in Fatal Accident

**Newport News, VA** – The Newport News Police Department is searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident on Saturday. At around 6:15 a.m., officers arrived at Harpersville Road and Jefferson Ave., where they found a 74-year-old man, Dennis Gene Clarkson, unconscious on the roadway.

Preliminary investigations indicated Mr. Clarkson was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop at the scene. Mr. Clarkson was pronounced dead at the location of the incident.

**Utica, NY** – Thursday, Utica police responded to a weapon possession and menacing incident on the 1000 block of Miller Street around 10:30 AM.

A bicycle delivery driver reported a confrontation with a man on a porch. During their exchange, the suspect picked up and threw a stick at the delivery driver.

Following the initial incident, the suspect returned inside his residence, only to come out pointing a handgun at the delivery driver, who contacted the police. Responding officers apprehended the individual and conducted a search of his apartment.

The search led to the discovery of a 9mm handgun. Lauren Smith, 24, of Utica, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second and third degrees, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Menacing in the second degree.
