November 23, 2024

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — A 17-year-old male has been charged with terroristic threats and harassment in connection with threats impacting the Chartiers Valley School District, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.

The investigation began on November 22 when Collier Township Police requested assistance from the county’s General Investigations Unit regarding a handwritten note allegedly authored by the juvenile. Detectives determined that the note was threatening in nature.

Authorities revealed that the teen had previously been charged on November 11 in connection with earlier threats made against the same school district. After reviewing the case with the district attorney’s office, investigators filed additional charges and took the juvenile into custody on Friday evening.

The nature of the threats and their potential impact on the school community have not been disclosed. Law enforcement continues to work with the school district to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The juvenile’s identity has not been released due to his age, and the case will proceed through the juvenile justice system.
