Toms River kids invited to make sweet winter treats at recreation event

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – With the holidays winding down, Toms River Recreation is giving local children a chance to keep the fun going next week with a hands-on winter-themed cooking class in partnership with Chef It Up.

The event, scheduled for Tuesday, January 14 at 6 p.m., will take place at the Youth Services Building located behind the Toms River Police Department. Open to children ages 6 through 11, the class will feature the creation of a “winter wonderland” parfait, electric blue lemonade, and snowman cookie decorating.

Township officials said space for the class is limited and encouraged families to register early through the Community Pass website at register.communitypass.net/tomsriver. Additional details on the township’s seasonal recreation offerings can be found on the municipal Recreation Department’s webpage.
