Little Egg Harbor, NJ – Court records filed in Ocean County provide new details about the investigation that led to the arrest of a Little Egg Harbor woman accused of sexually assaulting a child and recording the alleged incident on her cellphone.
Victoria Anne Cranmer, 25, remains lodged in the Ocean County Jail after being charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child between the ages of 4 and 13, along with three child endangerment offenses. She remains in custody as of Saturday night.
According to investigators, the child was not Cranmer’s daughter but had been entrusted to her care at the time of the alleged offenses.
Police say Snapchat video was recovered during investigation
According to the criminal complaint and supporting investigative records, detectives recovered a video from the Snapchat “Memories” feature during a forensic examination of Cranmer’s iPhone.
Police allege the video was recorded on May 6 inside a residence in Little Egg Harbor and depicts inappropriate sexual contact involving the child while Cranmer was present.
Investigators allege the recording captured Cranmer making remarks to the child during the incident. According to court documents, detectives identified Cranmer in the video by her voice and distinctive tattoos visible on her legs.
“Why are you picking my pubes?” she can be heard saying on the graphic video while laughing, according to the report. Cramner was sitting on the toilet when it happened on May 6, and the young victim was recorded grabbing her genital area.
Identifiable tattoos linking Cramner to the video included a lightning bolt, a mushroom, and the word “boobs” on her body.
The allegations described in the complaint form a central part of the criminal case. Those allegations have not yet been tested in court.
Multiple child endangerment charges filed
In addition to the sexual assault charge, Cranmer is accused of three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
According to the complaint, those charges allege that she violated her duty of care to the child, knowingly possessed images related to the alleged abuse, and distributed or offered images connected to the investigation.
Authorities have not publicly released additional details regarding the distribution allegation.
Child was entrusted to her care
Investigators have not disclosed the child’s exact age, saying only that the alleged victim was younger than 13 years old.
Police have also not disclosed the nature of Cranmer’s relationship to the child beyond stating that the girl had been entrusted to her care.
Cranmer was arrested Wednesday following the investigation and remains in custody pending court proceedings.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Under New Jersey law, criminal complaints contain allegations made by law enforcement based on probable cause. Cranmer is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
