Kids thrown from moving car as woman charged with endangering children in park incident

NEW KENSINGTON, PA — Two children were thrown from the hood of a moving car in a park last month, leaving one seriously injured and another temporarily unresponsive, leading to criminal charges against a 28-year-old woman from Arnold.

Kaitlin Golding was charged after New Kensington police say she allowed the juveniles to ride on the hood of her moving vehicle at Memorial Park on Oates Boulevard. Surveillance footage from the park captured the moment the children fell off the car as it rolled over a speed bump.

The disturbing video, reviewed by investigators, shows the vehicle in motion with the children clinging to the hood. As the car slowed near a speed bump, both juveniles were launched forward and fell onto the pavement. One child appeared unresponsive for a short time, while the other suffered several broken bones and was hospitalized.

Golding now faces multiple charges including aggravated assault by motor vehicle, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and endangering the welfare of children, along with several traffic violations.

The incident occurred in October but charges were formally filed Wednesday following the completion of the investigation. Police have not disclosed the relationship between Golding and the injured juveniles.

Golding is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The case remains active in the criminal justice system.
