Watch: Trump personally congratulated Republican truck driver Ed Durr after defeating Democrat power broker Steve Sweeney

New Jersey’s most powerful Democrat has been dethroned. New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney lost by 4 points in last Tuesday’s election to a relatively unknown truck driver, Republican Ed Durr. This week, Durr received a phone call from President Donald J. Trump to congratulate him on his win.

Durr and his team swept Democrats in the south Jersey county of Gloucester.
