37 year-old Arrested in Baltimore Shooting

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – On October 30, 2021 at approximately 11:25 p.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of Hillman Street at E. Chase Street for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found 46 year-old Johns Wilford, Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.

Wilford was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital, by medics, where he died a short time later. Homicide detectives responded out and assumed control of the investigation. They were able to obtain pertinent information about this case that led them to identifying the suspect and obtaining an arrest warrant.

On December 6, 2021, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested 37 year-old Derrick Creek of the 1000 block of Hillman Street in Allegany County, Maryland. He was subsequently transported back to Baltimore’s Central Booking where he has been charged with 1st Degree Murder.

Currently, Derrick is being held without bail at Central Booking.
