Two shot, one dead in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, PA – Two people were shot and one was killed in Allentown early Sunday morning. Police have released preliminary information regarding the shooting.

On Sunday, January 30, 2022, at approximately 4:20 am, patrol units responded to a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of South 4th. Street. Patrol units located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound to the body and applied lifesaving first aid. The victim was transported to an area trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries.

​A short time later a second gunshot victim arrived at an area hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

​Identification of the decedent is pending notification of next of kin.

​The incident is being investigated by the Allentown Criminal Investigations Division as well as the Lehigh County District Attorney’s office and the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force as well as the Lehigh County Coroner’s office.
