FORT WALTON BEACH, FL – A 13-year-old girl was rescued, but is listed in critical condition after being pulled from the waters of Choctawhatchee Bay south of Fort Walton Beach this weekend.

According to police, the teen was in critical condition after being pulled from the water at Marler Park on Okaloosa Island Sunday.

“A family member says the girl was swimming around 3:30 p.m., but a few minutes later could not be seen. She was pulled from the water and later transferred to a Pensacola hospital for treatment,” the department said.
