Elderly Wheelchair-Bound Man Victim of Assault and Robbery Aboard NYC Bus

NEW YORK, NY – A 64-year-old man in a wheelchair, was the latest victim of New York City violence this week. On Sunday, the New York City Police Department. Reported that the elderly man was sitting in his wheelchair aboard an MTA bus when he was approached by a male who assaulted and robbed him.

The attack and robbery against the wheelchair bound man happened at around 9:00 PM on August 13th aboard the S40 MTA bus to New York City Police Department said.

According to the New York City Police Department, the brazen criminal stood behind the 64-year-old victim, who was sitting in a wheelchair and removed $250 from the man’s pocket.

At that time, the man stood up from his wheelchair to briefly resist the attack. The attacker grabbed the man, who then sat back down in his chair, and the suspect fled.

According to police, the robber was identified as a man, perhaps in his mid to late 20s, five feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.
