Newark police searching for shirtless purse snatcher

Newark, NJ- the North Police Department today is searching for a pair of purse snatchers, including the one who identified as a shirtless man. According to the North Police Department, on August 12th the two men assaulted and robbed a woman of her purse.

“Police responded to a report about an assault in progress, which occurred at approximately 1:13 a.m. when the victim got off the bus in the 100 block of South 11th Street. The victim was approached from behind by the suspect, who punched her in the face several times when he snatched her purse and fled southbound on South 11th Street. The Black male wearing the blue shirt served as the lookout during the incident,” police said today.
