OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ –   On Monday, at approximately 2:30 pm, officers were dispatched to Target for a report of a shoplifting in progress.  Captain Patrick Martin was in the area of Target and observed the accused, Anthony Bowe, driving near Applebee’s.

“Captain Martin attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on Bowe’s vehicle.  Captain Martin exited his vehicle and Bowe drove his vehicle directly at him in an attempt to strike him before fleeing the area.  Surrounding towns were notified to be on the lookout for Bowe and his vehicle,” the Ocean Township Police Department said in a statement. “Officer Stenger responded to Target and spoke with Loss Prevention who advised Bowe had stolen over $500.00 worth of merchandise from the store.”
