Man who fell from escalator after Jets-Steelers game passed away at hospital

Pittsburgh, PA- A man who fell from the escalator as fans or exiting Acrisure Stadium after the conclusion of the Jets and Steelers football game has passed away in the hospital, according to the Pittsburgh Police.

According to the police oh, it is unknown what caused the man’s fall, but investigators are hoping that an autopsy and toxicology reports from the medical examiner’s office could shed light on the incident.

Police are investigating the incident due to the unnatural manner of death and at this time have not indicated any foul play at this time. The Pittsburgh Police Department said they would not be commenting any further on this incident until the results of the medical examiner’s report are released.

As with all situations involving an unnatural death, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating the events at Sunday’s game.

‘The cause and manner of death, including any toxicology results, will come from the Medical Examiner,” the Pittsburgh Police Department said today in a statement.
