Man found dead in 24th floor Bronx apartment fire

NEW YORK, NY – Three people were injured and one man was killed inside a 24th-floor apartment in the Bronx late Monday night. The injured include a 46-year-old woman, a 15-year-old male and an 11-month-old boy.

They were all treated for smoke inhalation and other non-life-threatening injuries.

FDNY responded to 1133 Ogden Avenue shortly after 11 pm on Monday after receiving a report of a fire on the 24th floor of the building.

Police officers from the city’s 44th Precinct and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire inside the apartment.

Once inside. first responders located a 45-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive. He was rushed to NYC Health & Hospitals/ Lincoln by FDNY EMS. He was pronounced deceased a short time later. The other three occupants were listed in stable condition.

FDNY Fire Marshall to determine the cause of the fire. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
