BROOKLYN, NY – Detectives with Brooklyn’s 69th Police Precinct have made an arrest in the January murder of 40-year-old Billy Hippolyte.

26-year-old Samuel Hippolyte, Billy’s half-brother, was charged by police with murder and possession of a deadly weapon. Incidentally, both men shared the same birthday, July 1. They were born to the same father with different mothers.

On Tuesday, January 17, at around 5 pm, police responded to a 911 call of shots fired in the vicinity of 741 East 83 Street.

“Upon arrival, officers observed a 40-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the torso,” the NYPD reported. “EMS responded and transported the aided male to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.”

Earlier, the two had reportedly argued with each other over money.
