Police make arrest in near-deadly hit and run in Clifton

PATERSON, NEW JERSEY – An arrest has been made in connection with an attempted murder investigation in Clifton, New Jersey. Mohammed Abuhaj was arrested on March 8 after allegedly striking a 31-year-old pedestrian with his vehicle, causing life-threatening injuries. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

Abuhaj is charged with first-degree attempted murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon. He faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
