Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Montville Police Chief Andrew Caggiano announced that a 15-year-old juvenile faces charges in connection with an alleged threat made against Robert R. Lazar Middle School on March 24, 2023. The threat was made via social media, prompting Montville Police to respond as a precaution. Authorities ensured the safety of students and staff before allowing them to enter the school.
An investigation revealed that the source of the threat was a juvenile who did not attend the school. Yesterday, the teenager was formally charged with third-degree terroristic threats and third-degree false public alarm. Due to the case involving a juvenile, officials will not release further information.
