NYPD crossing guard arrested for endangering welfare of a child

NEW YORK, NY – Police with the city’s 49th Precinct have arrested and charged NYPD school crossing guard Sanija Kurtovic.

Kurtovic, 49, was arrested on Friday. She was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.

The NYPD did not provide any further details regarding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.

In 2009, Kurtovic was struck by an NYPD police car while pregnant, according to the Gothamist.
