PHILADELPHIA, PA – On April 5, at approximately 9:22 pm, a 62-year-old woman was retrieving items from her car on the 2700 block of Brown Street when an unknown black male approached her from behind. The suspect, described as a thin black male in his teens, pointed a revolver at the victim’s face and ordered her not to move.
A passerby interrupted the robbery, prompting the suspect to back away from the victim. The assailant then shot the passerby before fleeing the scene on foot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no items were taken from the victim.
The suspect arrived at the location in a compact four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda 3. A second unknown suspect drove the car away from the scene after the robbery attempt.
The Philadelphia Police Department has released video footage of the incident and is urging anyone with information about the suspect or vehicle to contact them immediately. If you see these suspects, do not approach and call 911 right away.
