QUEENS, NY – Taijuan Corse, 32, pleaded guilty today to attempted assault for attacking Long Island Rail Road workers with a knife, causing minor injuries to two workers during an incident last summer.

As part of his plea, Corse is banned from LIRR and Metro-North trains and must complete a one-year substance abuse and mental health outpatient program.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz stated that this case marks the first time in New York City that a defendant’s sentence includes a transit ban.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Mark Luccarelli.
