MOUNT OLIVE, NJ – Authorities have announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with a threat against Mount Olive High School on Wednesday. Events unfolded on Wednesday, when the Mount Olive Police Department was notified of a stolen vehicle in Roxbury Township and a possible threat to the high school.
In response, the high school was placed into lockdown, and other local schools were placed into shelter-in-place mode.
The stolen vehicle was later recovered on the Garden State Parkway near exit 64.
Two occupants, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old juvenile, were taken into custody without incident. Authorities have determined there is no ongoing danger to the community.
The investigation remains active, and no charges have been filed against the two individuals as of Wednesday afternoon. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office or the Mount Olive Police Department.
Police did not release the suspects’ names at this time.
