Chicago residents warned to walk in groups as gunmen target lone residents for robbery

CHICAGO, IL – Residents of Chicago’s 014th District have been warned of recent armed robberies in the city.

Victims have been approached by unknown assailants who brandished handguns and demanded personal property before fleeing in a dark gray four-door vehicle. The incidents took place on North Campbell Ave, North Milwaukee Ave, and West Wabansia Ave in the early hours of April 21st and 22nd.

The suspects are described as black males aged 17-25, between 5’06-5’07 in height, wearing black hoodies and pants. Police advise residents to be vigilant of their surroundings and walk in groups while avoiding carrying large sums of money. They also urge people not to confront or try to rationalize with the offenders. It’s recommended to park in well-lit areas and areas with high pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

If anyone has information about these crimes or sees anything suspicious, they are urged to call the Bureau of Detectives – Area 5 immediately. Police also encourage residents to notify neighbors about this crime pattern and to report any incidents or potential witnesses. Anyone who becomes a victim or witness to a crime should call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) and involved vehicles.
