Police investigating deadly overnight shooting in Hamilton Township

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A 28-year-old man was shot early Wednesday morning in Hamilton Township.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force, in connection with the Hamilton Police Division, is actively investigating a tragic incident involving a fatal shooting that took place in Hamilton Township.

At approximately 1 a.m., Hamilton police officers promptly responded to reports of an ongoing shooting in the 4900 block of S. Broad Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Matthew Morales, a 28-year-old resident of Blackwood.

He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Hamilton Police Department are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward and assist with the investigation.
