Body found in Harlem River Identified as Missing Teen

NEW YORK, NY – Police patrolling the area of the Madison River Bridge in the Harlem Rover on Thursday located a deceased male in the water. The body was later identified as missing 13-year-old Garrett Warren, of Harlem.

Police located Warren’s body at around 10:14 pm after a nearly weeklong search for the missing teen. He was last seen on Saturday, May 13th, near his West 143rd Street home in Manhattan.

Police issued a citywide search for Warren last weekend.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the boy’s death.
