Man Beaten and robbed by Trio at Yankee Stadium Station

NEW YORK, NY – Police in the Bronx are investigating a strong-armed robbery that occurred on a NYC train as it approached Yankee Stadium Station on Friday.

The incident took place at around 9:45 pm when a 23-year-old male became the victim of a theft on a northbound D train approaching the 161 Street-Yankee Stadium subway station. According to police, three unidentified individuals approached the victim and forcefully grabbed his phone from his hands before fleeing onto the station platform.

As the victim attempted to stop one of the suspects, the remaining two individuals proceeded to physically assault him.

The attackers struck the victim multiple times before making their escape into the 161 Street-Yankee Stadium subway station.

The New York Yankees were in Cincinnati this weekend and no games were scheduled at the stadium.

None of the victim’s belongings were recovered, and they did not sustain any serious injuries during the incident. The victim declined medical attention at the scene.
