15-Year-Old Arrested For Shooting and Killing Woman In D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department’s detectives have confirmed the arrest of a wanted suspect in relation to a homicide that took place on May 3rd at the 3700 block of Jamison Street in Northeast, D.C.

Just after 11 am on May 3rd, officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 23-year-old Kaijah McCoy, of D.C. inside a residential building suffering from a gunshot wound. McCoy was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 15-year-old male juvenile from Southeast, DC, was apprehended by the police on Tuesday in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He will undergo the extradition process and, upon being returned to the District of Columbia, will face charges of First Degree Murder while Armed in accordance with a D.C. Superior Court Custody Order.
