72-year-old woman attacked in broad daylight in the Bronx

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is actively investigating a robbery incident that occurred on Sunday, May 14.

At approximately 9:30 am, a 72-year-old woman was attacked from behind at Barnes Avenue and East 222 Street.

An unidentified man forcibly removed a gold chain from her neck before fleeing westbound on East 223 Street. The woman did not require medical attention as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a bald, dark-complexioned male of medium build, standing about 5’9″.

He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a gray hat, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
