Elderly woman assaulted in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department’s 44th Precinct is requesting public assistance in identifying an individual linked to an assault that occurred last Sunday.

According to the information provided, at around 7:30 pm, a 79-year-old woman was accosted on Gerard Avenue near 958. The unknown individual punched the victim, causing her to fall and hit her head on the ground. Following the assault, the assailant fled on foot heading north towards East 164 Street.

The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, and is currently in stable condition.

The male suspect is described as having a medium complexion, approximately 6’0″ in height, bald, and possessing dark facial hair. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
