Suspect Indicted for Deadly Stabbing of Elderly Man in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY – Joevani Vale, a 27-year-old resident of Boerum Hill, has been recently arraigned on charges that include murder, assault, and harassment. The Brooklyn Supreme Court’s indictment is related to the fatal stabbing of Ramon Cintron, an 83-year-old local, and various other assault incidents.

The charges, presented before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Vincent Del Giudice, include second-degree murder, second-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree attempted assault, second-degree harassment, third-degree attempted assault, and fourth-degree stalking. Vale was ordered to return to court on September 29, 2023, and is currently held without bail.

Vale’s series of alleged assaults culminated in a fatal incident on April 8, 2023. Vale allegedly attacked Cintron in an elevator at the Wyckoff Gardens Housing Development, stabbing him roughly 30 times. He was arrested on April 11, 2023, and allegedly assaulted a police officer in the Maimonides Medical Center’s psychiatric ward the following day.
