NEW YORK, NY – Police are investigating an assault against a 67-year-old man in the Bronx.

On Sunday, at approximately 12:25 p.m., a 67-year-old male victim was involved in an altercation with two unidentified male individuals near the intersection of Bergen Avenue and East 148 Street. According to a report made to the police, one of the individuals approached the victim from behind, placing his arm around the victim’s neck and impeding his breathing.

The victim was subsequently forced to the ground while the other individual physically assaulted him, delivering punches and kicks.

During the incident, the assailants forcibly took the victim’s bag, which contained currency and electronics. Following the robbery, both individuals fled in an easterly direction on 148 Street. Due to the severity of the assault, emergency medical services were summoned, and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
