Newark police issue Juneteenth travel advisory

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has announced the closure of certain streets during specified hours for the Juneteenth Festival. The following street closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023:

  • Bergen Street between Lyons Avenue and Watson Avenue/Nye Avenue

Motorists are advised to expect delays and make alternative travel arrangements.
