Four Juveniles Charged with Attempted Carjacking in Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD – An attempted carjacking incident on Wednesday, led to the arrest of four juveniles, charged by the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Carjacking Interdiction Unit. The accused, two 15-year-olds, a 14-year-old, and a 16-year-old, are from Washington, DC.

The incident occurred around 11:10 pm at Iverson Street in Oxon Hill. A woman reported being approached and pushed to the ground by two suspects as she exited her Kia sedan. They took her keys, but upon seeing a steering wheel lock, they abandoned the car and fled the scene in a green Kia Soul, which was later identified as stolen.

CIU detectives and Division IV Oxon Hill Station patrol officers located and pursued the suspect vehicle on Indian Head Highway. After a short chase, the suspects were arrested, and two loaded handguns were recovered. The juveniles now face attempted carjacking and related charges. The 16-year-old is held at the Department of Corrections, while the younger suspects are at a juvenile detention facility.
